Top Demanding Skills and how to Upskilling Most needed skills in future?

What skills should you learn if you want to be successful what are the top demanding skills of the future and where should you spend your time and focus? if you want to have the career of your dreams.

Well if that's something that you want to learn more about then this article is perfect for you because of today. I am going to share with you the most in-demand skills for the future more specifically for 2025 I'm gonna talk about the most in-demand skills for the future and before I go into the details and the four categories that I've split these into so I can cover all of them I do want to say one thing in the research published by the world economic forum they say that between 40 and 50 of the workforce is expected to go through some sort of reskilling or upskilling most needed skills process within the next few years and most likely if you're here reading this article you will probably be one of those people and of course they expect that the time you need to get that new skill or to improve on a skill that you already have very varies between one month up to six months and it depends on the type of skill, of course, some are more time consuming than others.

You can go and learn these skills so without further ado let's get into the first category all right. The First Skill that is in demand

Problem Solving:

You can find this one called different names sometimes it's called critical thinking sometimes it's called problem-solving but essentially this boils down into four different categories according to the world economic forum.

Problem solving refers to analytical skills and Innovation. It refers to complex problem solving analytical thinking and analysis and creativity originality and initiative. Now if you pay attention to the first three types of skills related to problem solving are actually more related to analytics and critical thinking and that is why they will be very very handy for any type of job related to business intelligence to big data to analytics are going to be huge very much in demand when it comes to the jobs of the future and the job market up until 2025.

If you look at the last one creativity originality and initiative those are related to a little bit of a different focus so if you think about where you need creativity and originality that is going to be needed for sure when it comes to social media.

When it comes to content creation and if you look at other sources like Coursera they also think that content creation is going to be one of the key areas of focus of the job market moving forward so creativity and originality are definitely going to be very very relevant moving forward both from the way we look at problems and we solve them but also through the way we write and create content for social media and marketing purposes.

Management:

The second top demanding Skill is management and in this category, the world economic forum includes two different types of skills, on the one hand, they talk about active learning and learning strategies, and then on the other hand they talk about resilience stress management and flexibility.

So let's take them one by one when you think about learning strategies and active learning why is that so important? well, it's not for a specific job per se but I think it's more about all of the jobs to be honest because if you think about the pace of change and the number of times that we will probably be required to re-skill and upskill ourselves and learn new things and develop new capabilities in the future that is going to be so much faster than ever before.

If you think about it there will be a need for humans to learn and unlearn and learn and unlearn and be able to adapt very quickly to the new requirements of the marketplace and of the workplace and that is because technology is bringing all of this change.

We need to be able to adapt to the different requirements in the market so there will definitely be a high need for us to actively learn new skills adopt new knowledge embrace new technologies and unlearn some of the ones that we knew.

So definitely learning capabilities will be a huge skill to master in the future now if you look at the other one the second self-management type of skill that is more related to resilience and flexibility and stress management and you might be wondering what does this have to do with the workforce.

it's not necessarily to say that the workforce is going to be even more stressful than it is today.

Working with people:

One of another top future skill is working with people you might think okay I’m already doing that but let me be a little bit more specific because what the world economic forum mean by working with people is essentially two things leadership and social influence.

So let's take them one by one what they mean by leadership is the need for us to identify those empowering leaders that are able to inspire and influence and paint a vision that other people feel motivated to follow and achieve because that's really the only way that we will be able to seize the opportunity that the future holds for us and be able to embrace the change that's already started not even coming and be able to make the best out of it. A top skill that will basically separate the successful to so those powerful leaders that are able to inspire others are definitely going to be in high demand moving forward on the other hand if you think about social influence basically what that means is somebody's ability to influence their team their virtual team most of the time into the direction that they should be taking.

So think about this right now most of the people on the planet are working remotely most of us have virtual teams that we are part of but more often than not the people that are part of those virtual teams are not our direct reports and that means that we need to influence them.

Without authority, we need to be able to lead them without having the direct reporting line authority to tell them to do that so the ability to have that social influence is going to become increasingly important.

Technology:

The Most Important and top skill in demand for future is Technology.

It's so broad and the need for digital skills and technology skills is probably one of the topics that are most discussed and most covered when it comes to the skills of the future and that's mainly because if you look at the market nowadays every company is becoming a tech company right every company has technology at the core of its business.

So us being able to use that technology is going to be key moving forward but the world economic forum creates a separation between the ability to use technology and monitor and control versus the ability to develop so everything that's related to cloud computing and coding that will go into tech design and programming so if there is any category where you should be spending time this is definitely one of them and in fact, the world economic forum estimated that if you want to take on a new skill related to technology so cloud computing engineering programming that could take you between five and six months may be up to five months may be up to six months.

But that is not to say that they are not key in my opinion you should spend your time learning a technology skill for sure and that depends a lot on your preference so you could go into python if that's something you want to learn more about or you could go into analytics and then SQL, DBA and so forth so lots of things to cover here.
